Smart branding provides insight into what your show is about, so use the podcast artwork to help you create an identity that communicates the tone and subject matter of your podcast.
It doesn’t necessarily need an image, a creative use of fonts and colour can offer a visually stunning and effective artwork, and please, please avoid microphones and headphones.
When adding text to your artwork make sure that you limit visual distractions. Make sure you limit the number of different fonts in your artwork. If you use two different fonts, use one serif and one sans-serif font.
Good rule of thumb: Don’t use more than two fonts in your podcast cover art, but one is enough; does it look good at thumbnail size? Consider using clear, large font and relevant imagery and remember to keep it at 3000 x 3000 pixels, JPEG, 1.5Mb

Good balance of textured colour and letters.
This design is easy to recognise, I like the plain background colour and text. And a great description too: The economy explained. Imagine you could call up a friend and say, “Meet me at the bar and tell me what’s going on with the economy.” Now imagine that’s actually a fun evening.
Clever use of plain colours and text
